BE@RBRICKS: Overview

Be@rbricks are collectible figures that have been produced by the Japanese company Medicom Toy for over 20 years. All figures have the shape of a bear with large round ears, an upright stature and a significant belly, but differ from one another in size, design and material. Like Lego figures, the head and limbs are movable - the movement of the arms and legs is accompanied by a characteristic cracking sound.

Be@rbricks are released in limited editions, which makes them very popular with collectors. Common sizes are 100% (7 cm high), 400% (28 cm high) and 1000% (70 cm high), but other sizes are now available. Although most Be@rbricks are made of plastic, there are also versions made of wood or metal, for example. Sometimes the figures are even provided with fabric costumes.

Thanks to numerous collaborations with well-known artists, museums, publishers and other companies, Medicom Toy has managed to get a broad section of society excited about Be@rbricks.
