Collection: James Rizzi (*05.10.1950, †26.12.2011)

Even during his lifetime, James Rizzi was a global pop art legend who played a key role in developing and shaping the style of 3D collage. Practically everyone knows his cheerful motifs such as living skyscrapers, Rizzi birds and many other icons of today's pop art culture. It was always a particular concern of his to make art accessible and affordable for everyone. In this respect, Rizzi works, especially his 3 × 2 inch "minis", are the most stable and liquid works of art on the market.

Rizzi also worked on various projects in the field of applied art, including designs for postage stamps, telephone cards, clocks, porcelain and even an airplane and a tram. James Rizzi died unexpectedly and far too soon on Christmas 2011, leaving behind a huge body of work that is gradually being published by his German publisher art28 in Tübingen.
